REGISTRATION DATES

 

NEW AND RETURNING MEMBERS

 

Mt Gravatt Hawks Soccer Club Inc. invites new and existing members to register for the 2012 Season. Junior Sign On will continue on Wednesday Nights from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

 

New players are welcome and places are offered strictly on a first come, first served basis. Please contact a Junior Director on 0487 260 782 or email juniors@mtgravatthawks.org

 

All new players will have to provide proof of their date of birth.

 

NEW REGISTRATION PROCESS - ONLINE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT

 

Football Brisbane through Football Federation Australia is continuing their online registration system for all clubs for the 2012 season and implementing a new online payment option. This means that you will be able to register and pay your registration fees online without the need to attend our Sign-on Day. Online registration is available through MyFootballClub - www.myfootballclub.com.au (available NOW).

We are asking that members make use of the MyFootballClub website as it will save you time by avoiding the queues on Sign-on Day and your registration will be completed upon payment of your fees. As an incentive, we are providing DISCOUNTED FEES FOR ONLINE REGISTRATIONS.

 

Please note that you will still have the option of registering online and paying at on one of our registration days if you wish. In this case once you have registered online, you will need to print out your invoice and bring that along on the day of registration and pay your fees.

 

Online registrations that are not finalised by the Open Sign On days will be cancelled to allow new players to register, unless you have contacted our Junior Directors on
0487 260 782 and made alternative arrangements to finalise your registration.  Payment of fees will not be available at grading or team placement nights and players cannot grade or be placed in a team until their fees have been paid.

 

A manual process for registration will be available on the registration days, however please be aware that all paperwork and fees will need to be completed on the day and there will be limited volunteers available to assist, therefore there may be a waiting period at peak times.

 

All players that are registering online must register in their correct age groups. All players must register in their relevant age group and will be allocated to appropriate teams after

consideration by club officials.

 

PLEASE NOTE: UNAVAILABLE AGE GROUPS - places are strictly limited and if the package for your age group is unavailable it may be because the age group has filled its quota. Please contact our Junior Directors on 0487 260 782 or email juniors@mtgravatthawks.org to check on the availability of places and what alternate registration options exist.

 

FAMILY DISCOUNTS: Players are entitled to a family discount on their second and subsequent registration. The condition is that at least one person in the immediate family must be a member (all members must be over the age of 18, therefore a parent of a child playing at Mt Gravatt is the member). The first child is charged the full registration price and the second and subsequent children given a discount.

 

In order to apply this discount when registering online, on the second or subsequent registration you should select "Purchase Additional Items" on the screen where you are presented with the amount payable (this is before you make payment). Select the "2nd + player registration" item with a price of -$85 and that amount will be applied to your invoice. Then simply pay online or produce the invoice - remember to bring the invoice with you if you are paying in-person.

 

A family discount also applies if the 2nd or subsequent registration is a senior player (provided that the player is Under 18 years of age at time of registration or the player is already a member by having registered a child to play e.g. parent/guardian). Discounts only apply to immediate family and all players 18 and older must be members of the club and therefore can not be bundled and therefore a family discount does not apply.

Registering your interest online will not only save you money (online registration discount), it will also save you time on our registration dates as we will have a "Fast-Track" queue for those who have completed their registrations online but have opted to pay in person. Online registration is available through MyFootballClub - www.myfootballclub.com.au

Unfortunately we are not able to help you with online registration as the system is managed and operated by Football Federation Australia (FFA) who are able to assist you with your enquiries. You can opt to email them for assistance and they will return a call or provide the information you require via email.

  

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Due to limited field space, we will have to limit the number of teams. As a result of these limitations, a “first in best dressed” basis will apply with numbers. Please contact our Junior Directors on 0487 260 782 and get your name on the list for your age group for 2012. 

 

Please ensure that you give the correct age group, as an error can lead to a lot of heartache.  Club policy requires that all junior players play in their correct age group.  Please note that this policy will be strictly applied in 2011 and there will be NO relaxation of this policy.

SQUIRTS FOOTBALL PROGRAM (U3-U5)

 

Mt Gravatt will again be running its Quest Squirts Program during the 2012 season. The Squirts Program will be run as a block training session for a period of 10 weeks (excluding public holiday weekends, and other events such as school holidays). Participation will be charged for the entire block (casual plans will not be available in 2012) and will be running the following Squirts sessions:

 

  • Wednesday Nights 6:00-6:45pm (Kindy Program)
  • Sunday Mornings 8:30-9:15am (Advance Group)
  • Sunday Mornings 9:15-10:00am (Kindy Group)

 

Note that the Kindy Program is an activity based program teaching the basics of football using parents as part of the program. The Advanced Group is for players that are more independent and are getting ready to join the football program and are able to be led by a coach for an entire session.

 

The Squirts Program will be commence on Wednesday 21st March and Sunday 25th March. You can register online for this program before the first session. When registering online, please select the appropriate "package" for the required session. Places are limited and sessions will be closed once they are fully subscribed.

 

OPTUS SMALL-SIDED FOOTBALL PROGRAM (U6-U11)

 

The final stage of the Optus Small Sided Football program by Football Federation Australia (FFA) was implemented in 2011 with the U11 age group playing in the same format as the U10 program last season with the format being 9v9 on a field that is equivalent to half the size of a full field.  All other age groups will remain unchanged (for more information refer to the brochure on Optus Small-Sided Football click [here]).

 

NOTE: PLAYERS BORN 2001-2003 (UNDER 9, 10 AND 11)

 

Football Brisbane has introduced a “soft grading” model for these age groups.  Clubs are offered the opportunity to group experienced players (with average to above average skills) together and nominate teams in the Komodo Dragons hub.  This allows players of similar abilities to play in the same team and against teams of similar abilities.

 

This season in Under 9’s, 10’s and 11’s we are giving players the opportunity to nominate if they are interested in playing in a Komodo Dragons team within their age groups. These teams will not be determined based on “playing with your mates” and may require a final selection process if player numbers accommodate this.  A check box will be placed on the registration allowing you to tick this box if you would like to be considered for a Komodo Dragons team.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL PROGRAM (U12-U17)

 

It is Club Policy that all players in Divisional (Under 12-17) teams be graded. This ensures that players are playing at a level appropriate to their skill level, which should ensure that they get maximum enjoyment from their football. Grading is determined by nominated officials and includes the coach for the highest graded team in that age group.

 

NOTE: PLAYERS BORN 1995-1996

 

Note: Football Brisbane has determined that there will no longer by an Under 16 competition available and they have now implemented an Under 17 competition as a Junior Competition in 2012.

 

MERCHANDISE AND PLAYING EQUIPMENT

 

The Club has an agreement with Veto Sports as our official merchandise and football equipment supplier.  Merchandise will be available for a limited time (Sign On Days, Grading Sessions and SSF Muster) at our store in the clubhouse, after that there will be shorts and socks available through the canteen on match days only. 

 

All players must wear official club socks and shorts (playing shirts are provided on match days). Merchandise will be available including shorts, socks, boots, shin pads and balls.

Note: Additional Child Registration applies once there has been one person within the immediate family (father, mother and siblings) registered, and therefore any additional or subsequent players receive a discount (the discount of $85 includes the membership and fundraising levy which is only paid once per family/member). Please note that there can only be one member (over 18), therefore siblings over the age of 18 must be members and therefore do not qualify for additional/subsequent player discounts. This discount is offered to families with two or more children playing, or where the parent may be a senior player and their child also plays for Mt Gravatt.

 

Note: To qualify for the Online Registration discounted fees, your registration must be completed online. Payment options include online payment or payment in person at one of our advertised registration sessions. Players must be registered and fully paid before they are able to participate in any gradings.

 

Note: Mt Gravatt Hawks Soccer Club does operate a no refund policy, therefore once registrations have been processed there will be no refunds. All players who register with Mt Gravatt will be given a team placement, not being graded in your team of choice is not considered a valid reason for requesting a refund. Please note that if a player for some reason is not able to be offered a team placement in their age group, then a full refund will be provided.

 

PAYMENT OPTIONS

 

Online registrations will have the option for payment to be made online.  If you complete your registration including payment online, you will receive a confirmation email (usually within 48 hours) and information regarding grading (Juniors) and team placement (SSF) - there is no need for you to attend a Sign On session at the club (providing greater convenience to our members).  

 

If you register online and opt to pay in person, then you must pay your fees before attending any training or grading sessions.  You must make payment at one of our Sign On sessions (dates listed earlier).  Any unpaid registrations will result in those registrations being cancelled.

 

The Club accepts cash, cheque, EFTPOS, and Credit Cards (Visa and Mastercard only) for all registrations and merchandise purchases. Please note that all registrations must be paid in full on the day of registration, otherwise registrations will not be processed and any registrations of interest made online will be cancelled if they are not finalised on one of the registration days.

 

SPONSORSHIPS

 

The Club will be replacing all current playing strips over the next 3 years.  This is being achieved through sponsorships. Team sponsorships are available from $900/year. If you are interested in sponsoring a team and getting some exposure for your business, please contact the Club.

 

JUNIOR GRADING (U12-U17)

 

It is club policy that all players in U12-U17 teams be graded.  This ensures that players are playing at a level appropriate to their skill level. Grading will be undertaken between  30/01/12 and 19/02/12. See the following schedule for grading times.  Grading will commence the week beginning Monday 30th of January.

All players must be registered (and paid) with the club before they are able to be graded.

 

Please note that Selection Matches will be invitation only - players will be invited on the last training session of the week, before each match.

 

Grading will be completed as early as possible to enable unsuccessful players to gain membership with other clubs if they desire. Please note that there will be NO REFUNDS of registration and membership fees after they have been processed by the Club. All players that register will be offered in a place. In the event due to circumstances out of the club's control, if a place is not able to offered, then club fees will be refunded.

 

KOMODO DRAGONS (U9-11)

 

If you have opted to be considered for a Komodo Dragons team grading (U9-U11 only) , then please ensure that you attend the sessions listed below, starting on the week beginning Monday 13th February (all sessions will be at Dittmer Park, Klumpp Road, Upper Mt Gravatt).

SMALL-SIDED FOOTBALL TEAM PLACEMENT

 

Please note that in these age groups, there is no grading of players. Players are able to nominate other players they wish to play with, however these requests will need to made on your Online Registration (see questions are the end of the registration process) or on Registration Day. Placement in a team with those players is not guaranteed, but where possible all requests will be accommodated. It is important that all players attend the appropriate Team Placement date and time so that Coaches, Managers and Teams can be finalised and training times confirmed.

All players must wear Mt Gravatt shorts and socks and as part of the Football Queensland licensing scheme those items must be licensed merchandise. The club will supply a playing shirt on each game day.

 

A range of other Mt Gravatt clothing items are available including training shirts, club polos, supporter t-shirts, beanies, jackets and bags. Its will be available for sale on those nights or through the canteen during the season.

CANTEEN CONVENOR NEEDED - PART TIME WORK!!!

 

We are looking for someone to run our canteen on Friday nights from 6pm-10pm and/or Sunday mornings (when required). This would suit someone who may be semi-retired or a university student looking for some additional cash. The position does provide a small remuneration.  If anyone is interested, please contact Michelle on 0402 888 166.

 

HELP NEEDED!!!
