GENERAL
INFORMATION
Due
to limited field space, we will have to limit the number of teams. As a result of these limitations, a “first in
best dressed” basis will apply with numbers. If you are unable to attend on the above dates, please contact our Junior
Directors (juniors@mtgravatthawks.org) and get your name on
the list for your age group for 2018.
Please
ensure that you give the correct age group as an error can lead to a lot of
heartache. Club policy requires that all
players play in their correct age group. Please note that this policy will be strictly applied to in 2018 and
there will be no relaxation
of this policy.

It
is Club Policy that all players in Divisional (Under 12-16) teams be graded.
This ensures that players are playing at a level appropriate to their skill
level which should ensure that they get maximum enjoyment from their football.
Grading is determined by nominated officials and includes the coach for the
highest graded team in that age group. The club's decision on grading is final.
We
require players in Under 8's, 9’s, 10’s and 11’s to nominate if they are interested
in playing in an MiniRoos Komodo Dragon team within their age groups. The Komodo
Dragons players are to have average to above average football skills as matches
are usually played with a high skill level. These teams will not be determined
based on “playing with your mates” and may require a final selection process if
player numbers accommodate this. A check box will be placed on the registration
allowing you to tick this box if you would like to be considered for a Komodo
Dragons team.
MINIROOS
PROGRAM
(U8-U12)
Mini
Roos program by Football
Federation Australia (FFA) is a modified form of the world game and is specifically
designed to increase player
participation and enjoyment.
Smaller teams (and field
size) actually increase
the number of touches on
the ball. It's more fun!!.
U6
and U7 play 4 v 4 on a 1/8
park, U8 and 9 play 7v7 on a 1/4
park and U10, U11 and 12 play
9v9 on a 1/2 size field.

the FFA's MiniRoos Program

NOTE:
PLAYERS BORN 2007-2010 (UNDER
8, 9, 10 AND 11)
Football
Brisbane has introduced a “soft grading” model for these age groups. Clubs are offered the opportunity to group experienced
players (with average to above average skills) together and nominate teams in
the Komodo Dragons hub. This allows
players of similar abilities to play in the same team and against teams of similar
abilities.
This
season in Under 8's, 9’s, 10’s and 11’s we are giving players the opportunity to
nominate if they are interested in playing in a Komodo Dragons team within
their age groups. These teams will not
be determined based on “playing with your mates” and may require a final
selection process if player numbers accommodate this. A check box will be placed on the registration
allowing you to tick this box if you would like to be considered for a Komodo
Dragons team.
For
more information relating
to the Komodo Dragons grading
and nomination process,
please contact juniors@mtgravatthawks.org
NOTE:
PLAYERS BORN 2006 (UNDER
12)
This
season in Under 12's they will be playing in the MiniRoos format (1/2 a park,
9v9), however teams will
be playing competitively
(playing for premierships)
and therefore will be graded
into divisions.
This
means that the U12 players
will need to be graded (therefore
playing with mates is no
longer possible) and that
all players will be graded
as per the Club's Junior
Grading processes.
KOMODO
DRAGONS (U8-11)
If you have opted to be considered for a Komodo Dragons team
grading (U8-U11 only) , then please ensure that you attend grading sessions that
will be provided, starting on the week beginning 22/02/18
(all sessions will be at Dittmer Park, Klumpp Road, Upper Mt Gravatt).
MINIROOS (U8-11)
TEAM PLACEMENT
Please
note that in these age groups,
there is no grading of players.
Players are able to nominate
other players they wish
to play with, however these
requests will need to made
on your Online Registration
(see questions are the end
of the registration process)
or on Registration Day.
Placement in a team with
those players is not guaranteed,
but where possible all requests
will be accommodated. It
is important that all players
attend the appropriate Team
Placement date and time
so that Coaches, Managers
and Teams can be finalised
and training times confirmed.
Team
placement/muster will be
Thursday March 8, 2018.
NOTE:
All players must
be registered (and
paid) before Team Placement
nights in order to be placed
in a team.
JUNIOR
FOOTBALL PROGRAM (U13-U16)
It
is Club Policy that all players in Divisional (Under 12-16) teams be graded.
This ensures that players are playing at a level appropriate to their skill
level, which should ensure that they get maximum enjoyment from their football.
Grading is determined by nominated officials and includes the coach for the
highest graded team in that age group.
NOTE:
PLAYERS BORN 2006 (UNDER
12)
Please
note that this also now
applies to U12 who whilst
playing in the MiniRoos
format will also be graded
by Football Brisbane, therefore
the club needs to grade
all players in this age
group.
JUNIOR
GRADING
(U12-U16)
It
is club policy that all
players in U12-U16 teams
be graded. This ensures
that players are playing
at a level appropriate to
their skill level. Grading
will commence the week beginning
15/01/18.
NOTE:
All
players must be
registered (and paid) with the club
before they are able to
be graded.
Please
note that Selection Matches
will be invitation only
- players will be invited
on the last training session
of the week, before each
match.
Grading
will be completed as early
as possible to enable
unsuccessful players to
gain membership with other
clubs if they desire.
Please note that
there will be NO
REFUNDS of
registration and membership fees after they have been processed by the Club.
All players that register
will be offered in a place.
In the event due to circumstances
out of the club's control,
if a place is not able to
offered, then club fees
will be refunded.
