CHARITY DAY - SUNDAY 15TH AUGUST

Mt Gravatt is hosting a Charity Day on Sunday 15^th August to coincide with our Quest Newspapers Brisbane Premier League (BPL) Match of the Round.

There will be a full schedule of games on the day with our first game being our U15 BJL team at 9am, followed by our Youth, Reserves and then our Premier League clash against Taringa Rovers at 3pm.

There will also be an in-house carnival for our U6-U10 team from 10am until 1:30pm.  The Brisbane Roar are also getting on board with this special event with a visit from the Roar players and the Brisbane Roar mascot Roary making an appearance.

We are running a Mega Raffle with first prize being an encased ball signed by the Brisbane Roar, there will also be a number of consolation prizes including 4 family passes to the Brisbane Roar.

There will also be free rides for the kids and the whole community is welcome to come along and help raise funds for a good cause.  There will be a BBQ, Canteen, Bar and Coffee Van available on the day and it hope to create a carnival atmosphere.

All proceeds from the day including Junior Match Fees will be donated to charity.

SHOWGROUNDS TRAINING RESUMES

It is expected that all training will return to normal times and locations from Monday 2nd August.

*** ADVANCED SKILLS PROGRAM ***

Mt Gravatt Hawks Soccer Club is pleased to announce that its Advanced Skills Program is continuing until the end of the season..

This program is designed to give players an additional training session each week with some of the Club’s most senior coaches and players.

This program is part of the Club’s Junior Development Program and is open to all players who are registered to play with Mt Gravatt.  The program is designed to provide additional skills, primarily focusing on first touch, kicking, and dribbling and ball control.

Who: Mt Gravatt Players aged U6-U16

Resumes: Monday 12^th July, 2010

When: Monday Nights 5:45pm – 7:00pm (Program will run until the 16th August, 2010)

Where: Mt Gravatt Showgrounds, Logan Road, Mt Gravatt

Anyone looking for new club merchandise such as Training Combo Shirts, Club Polos, new style Jackets, Beanies, Hats and Scarfs - we have received a new shipment and items are available in all sizes.

Anyone who has pre-ordered merchandise, it is now ready for collection. We also have a good range of sizes of Yellow Skins available - don't get caught by the Referees making you remove your compression garments for not being the correct colour!!

Merchandise is available on Tuesday and Thursday nights between 6:00pm-6:30pm and Wednesday nights between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.

Limited supply of socks is available through the canteen on match days.

You will also be able to purchase/order a range of other club merchandise such as Club Polos, Combo Shirts (Combination Training and Dress Shirts - great value!!), Jackets, Bags, Jumpers, Beanies, Hats and Caps.

Mt Gravatt Hawks accepts multiple forms of payment including cash, cheque, EFTPOS and credit card (Visa and Mastercard only). Orders will be able to be collected through the canteen.

YELLOW SKINS NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Please be advised FIFA rules prohibit the wearing of any undergarment (such as Skins) that not the same colour as the outer garment (ie the shorts and shirt).

Football Brisbane has advised all clubs that this rule will be enforced and that players will be forced to leave the field of play to remove the garments. With our predominant yellow shorts it is difficult to source any compression garments that meet this criteria, therefore the Club has engaged with a supplier to produce yellow compression garments.

There are limited stocks currently available through the canteen at a cost of $65. We are not aware of any other place where you can purchase yellow garments. There is limited stock and once this first shipment is sold out we will be placing an order for another 60 pair (they are made specifically for Mt Gravatt and are not available through any other outlet).

Please be advised that all teams should now be graded. Please be aware of your team grading and the times and locations where your team will be training.

Training Schedule effective from Monday 1/3/2010

QUEST SQUIRTS (KINDY SOCCER) - 2010

The Club is pleased to announce that it is running its popular Quest Squirts (Kindy Soccer) Program again in 2010.  The new season started on Sunday 18 April with the season program running through until August. New participants can join at anytime.

All sessions are run on a casual basis on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30am, we do however pause the program for school holidays, long weekends and special events such as Mother's Day.

The cost is $5 per session and players pay that before each session.  The program also includes participation by parents and it is designed to develop the basic skills or any sport.  

We have two groups, our Kindy Group which are split into 4 different colours each week and we have series on activities in which they rotate every 10-12 minutes. There is minimal contact as most sessions focus on skill, core stability and movement.  At the end of each session we get together and run a game for those keen to hang around and use their newly acquired skills.

Our second group is for the more advanced player who is getting ready for our structured small-sided games program.  This group is coached by a single coach for the entire session and the players need to be able to participate without assistance from their parents.

The whole program is designed to have some fun, provide fitness and help develop basic sports skills.

There is a $5 registration fee payable in addition to the session fee on your first attendance and that is so we can register the player with Football Qld's Squirts Program which provides insurance to the participants.  We ask that parents come around 9am on the first day to ensure that registration paperwork can be completed before the start of the session.

Make sure your player brings along closed in shoes (boots not necessary - neither is a uniform - shorts and t-shirt are appropriate), water bottle, hat and some snacks to replace some of that energy they are going to consume.
