JUNIOR SIGN ON 2008

 

 

 

 

In 2008, the Club is integrating all Junior Players (Under 6 – Under 16) including Junior Girls, Rooball and Junior Boys. 

 

Junior Sign On days for 2008 are Sun 27th Jan and Mon 28th Jan from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.  These dates are strictly for existing members and their siblings only.

 

Due to continually growing numbers of players and limited field space, we will have to limit the number of teams. Due to these limitations, a “first in best dressed” basis will apply with player numbers.

 

If you are unable to attend on these dates, please contact our Junior Registrar Vicki Sciacca on 0405 746 515 and get your name on the list for your age group for the 2008. Please ensure that you give the correct age group, as an error can lead to a lot of heartache.  Club policy requires that all junior boy players play in their correct age group. Please note that this policy will be strictly applied in 2008 and there will be no relaxation of this policy.

 

Open Sign On days are Sat 2nd Feb from 9:00am to 1:00pm and Sun 3rd Feb from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. All new players will have to provide a proof of their date of birth.

 

In 2008, the Club is running in-house Under 6, Under 7 and Under 8 competitions.  All teams will play at Mt Gravatt therefore eliminating the need to travel to other clubs.

 

A number of changes are being phased in by Football Federation Australia (FFA), most notably the changes to Rooball which will be revamped with the introduction of small sided games (SSG) and which will be phased in over the next 3 years.  The Club will be required to implement this new format which will result in smaller teams playing on smaller fields with modified rules.  The revised format has not yet been finalised, but the changes in 2008 will impact Under 6, 7 and 8 competitions.  The other significant change for 2008 is that there will be an Under 16 competition which will replace the Under 17 competition.  Youth (Seniors) will now be an Under 18 competition.

 

The Club’s Development Program is based on a qualified semi-professional coach being appointed to each age group and being responsible for all players and coaches in that age group.  These coaches will also coach the highest graded team in the U11 to U16 age groups.  A Junior Development Program Levy of $60 will apply to all players (U11 Dev, U11-U16) who are graded in the highest division (BJL or Div 1) in each age group.  Additional levies will apply for any preseason camps or activities organised by coaches.

 

The Club is continuing its plan for replacing current playing strips which is being achieved through sponsorships.  Team sponsorships are available from $900/year.  If you are interested in sponsoring a team, please contact the Club.

 

INDIVIDUAL CLUB MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION

 

Juniors (U6-U16)        $180.00        Additional Child  $85.00

   

Junior Development Levy (U11 Dev, U11-U16)       $60.00

 

JDP Levy is payable by all players in Junior Boys teams U11 Dev & U11-U16 selected to play in the highest graded team (BJL or Div 1) in their age group.  The application of this levy to Juniors Girl teams is still be be decided.

 

GRADING (U11-U16)

 

It is club policy that all players in U11-U16 teams be graded.  This ensures that players are playing at a level appropriate to their skill level.  Grading will be undertaken between  4/2/07 and 17/2/07. See the following schedule for grading times.

All players must be registered with the club before they are able to be graded.

 

Please note that Selection Matches will be invitation only - players will be invited on the last training session of the week, before each match.

 

Grading will be completed as early as possible to enable unsuccessful players to gain membership with other clubs if they desire. Please note that there will be NO REFUNDS of registration and membership fees after they have been processed by the Club.
